Every update, in the open.

Attack3 never updates itself silently - you click "Check for updates" in Settings, and this page tells you exactly what you'd get. Bugs included. If something broke and got fixed, it's listed here.

1.6.0

New
  • Blocked sites is a real list now. The black text box is gone. Type a site at the top, press Enter, and it appears in the list with its own favicon, fetched from the site and kept so it still shows while the site is blocked. Each row has a Remove button.
  • The usual suspects, one click away. YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, X, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Netflix and Amazon sit above the list as quick-add chips until they are on it. Amazon joins the default list for new installs.

1.5.3

New
  • A proper piece of music as the lock closes. The first closing sound was a short descending figure that landed somewhere between a doorbell and a funeral. This one is written the other way round: a warm major progression with a melody that climbs and resolves, about ten seconds long, so the screen fading in has something to sit under. Starting a session is a win, and it should sound like one.

1.5.2

Fix
  • Updating from an older version left you on the old version. The installer replaced the app but never stopped the copy running under its previous name, and only one copy can run at a time - so the new build started, found itself locked out, and quietly exited. It looked like "the update did not restart", and none of the new settings appeared, because the old build was still the one running. The installer now clears every name the app has shipped under before replacing anything.
  • The Options tab no longer opens cut off. The settings window was shorter than its own content, so the newer settings sat below the fold until you resized it. It now opens tall enough to show everything, clamped to your screen, and every tab scrolls if it still does not fit.

1.5.0

New
  • A warning before the lock starts. Attack3 now counts down in the corner of the screen before a scheduled lock begins, so it never lands in the middle of something. Set your own lead times on Options (5 and 1 minute by default), with an optional sound. Hover the tray icon any time to see how long is left.
  • Fixed: the passcode box fought you on multi-monitor setups. Every lock window re-asserted itself twice a second without suppressing activation, so the screens traded focus back and forth and swallowed half of what you typed. The lock screens now hold their position without stealing focus, and the one with the passcode box gets it first.
  • Closing the curtains. The lock screen used to slam up. Now it fades in over a few seconds with a quiet closing sound, so starting a session feels like a decision you made rather than something that happened to you. Both the fade and the sound are on Options, and either can be turned off. Drop your own .wav or .mp3 into %ProgramData%\Lockdown\sounds to use your own.

1.4.1

Change
  • New pricing: $29 once, or $6 a month. Every feature is still in both plans, and the 30-day money-back guarantee is unchanged. Anyone who already bought keeps what they paid for, forever.

1.4.0

New
  • The app is now called Attack3. Same product, same team, one name that matches the address you already type. The installer, the app, and the scheduled tasks all carry the new name, and installing over an older copy cleans up the old ones for you.
  • Your settings, schedules, passcode, and license key all carry over untouched.

1.3.1

New
  • An unlicensed copy now says so on every screen. Without a valid key, the settings header carries a "nothing is being blocked" strip with a button straight to checkout, on every tab. It disappears the moment a key is saved.
  • A lapsed monthly subscription gets its own wording and a Renew button.

1.3.0

New
  • No more "do you want to allow this app?" every single launch. Opening Attack3 used to fire a Windows permission prompt every time, even when you only wanted to reach Settings on an app that was already running. It now starts through the scheduled task the installer already sets up, which hands it the admin rights it needs silently. You approve once, during install, and never again.
  • Safer upgrades. Installing over a running copy now stops the watchdog first, so the update can't collide with the app relaunching itself mid-install.
  • Includes 1.2.2 (12-hour AM/PM times everywhere), which was written up below but never got a download of its own.

1.2.2

New
  • No more military time. Schedule times now show as 12-hour AM/PM everywhere - the schedule editor, the lock screen's "Unlocks at" line, all of it. Type times naturally: "10pm", "9:30 PM", or "22:00" all work.

1.2.1

New
  • Pick the intensity per schedule. Each schedule now has its own "Full-screen lock" switch: on locks every monitor, off blocks your listed apps and sites while the PC stays usable. Mix both - a blocking-only workday and a full-lockdown evening.
  • "Lock now" sessions always use the full-screen lock. Existing settings carry over automatically.

1.2.0

New
  • The app now looks like the brand. Court black surfaces, volt accents, sharp corners - Settings, the lock screen, and every prompt restyled to match attack3.com.
  • The lock screen now leads with the ATTACK3 mark and "HOLDING THE LINE" instead of a generic padlock.

1.1.1

Change
  • The free trial is gone. The 30-day money-back guarantee replaces it: buy, try it for real, and if it is not for you, email support and get every cent back. The app now needs a license key from day one.
  • Your purchase email now includes the download link (attack3.com/download) alongside your key.

1.1.0

New
  • The app is now Attack3. Same engine, new name. Your settings, schedule, and passcode carry over untouched.
  • Monthly plan support. Licenses can now be monthly or lifetime. Monthly keys renew themselves while your subscription is active; lifetime keys still work fully offline, forever.
  • "Check for updates" button in Settings → Options. The app only contacts the update server when you click it - never on its own.
  • Settings → License now shows your plan and, for monthly, the date you're paid through.

1.0.1

Fixes
  • Fixed: the Settings window popped up every minute. The background watchdog that relaunches the app if it's killed was accidentally telling the running copy to open Settings on every check. Watchdog relaunches are now completely silent.
  • Fixed: the welcome message showed on every launch. It now shows once, on first run, and never again.
  • Exit now means exit. Quitting from the tray (passcode required if you set one) suspends the watchdog until your next sign-in, instead of the app reappearing a minute later.

1.0.0

First release
  • Scheduled lock windows (overnight schedules supported), full-screen lock on every monitor.
  • App blocking (force-closed every 2 seconds) and system-wide site blocking in all browsers.
  • Passcode bypass with optional waiting period and escalating lockout on failed attempts.
  • 7-day free trial, offline license keys, one-time installer that survives restarts and sign-outs.
